How Treatment Works
1. Complete Your Intake
Tell us about your skin concerns, current products, medications, allergies, pregnancy status, previous treatments, and treatment goals.
2. Provider Evaluation
A licensed healthcare provider reviews your information and determines whether telehealth treatment is appropriate. Photos, laboratory testing, or additional evaluation may be requested when clinically indicated.
3. Individualized Treatment Plan
Your treatment plan may include topical medications, oral medications, skincare recommendations, or hormonal treatment options when clinically appropriate.
4. Follow-Up & Monitoring
Acne treatment takes time. Follow-up allows your provider to evaluate effectiveness, irritation, side effects, and other concerns and adjust treatment when appropriate.
What to Expect
Acne improvement usually takes time, and response varies by treatment and individual. Some treatments may cause temporary dryness, peeling, irritation, or an initial worsening of breakouts.
Your provider will discuss what to expect with your specific treatment and when follow-up is recommended.
Treatment Options May Include
Treatment Options May Include
• Topical retinoids
• Benzoyl peroxide
• Topical antibiotics
• Azelaic acid
• Salicylic acid
• Oral antibiotics when appropriate
• Spironolactone for select patients
• Hormonal options when appropriate
Treatment recommendations are informed by current evidence-based acne treatment guidelines, including guidance from the American Academy of Dermatology.
Important
Completing an intake or paying for a medical evaluation does not guarantee a prescription or any specific medication. Treatment recommendations are based on your medical history, symptoms, photographs when appropriate, medication history, pregnancy status when relevant, and your provider's clinical judgment.
Some skin conditions may require an in-person examination or evaluation by a dermatologist or other healthcare professional.
