Adult Telehealth Care Is Now Available at OVH

When a minor illness develops, you may need medical guidance without waiting several days for an appointment or leaving home for a crowded clinic. Optima Vida Healthcare now offers same-day adult telehealth care for select nonemergency health concerns. This service is available to adults age 18 and older when the concern can be safely evaluated through virtual care.

What Can Be Evaluated Through Telehealth?

Depending on your symptoms and medical history, telehealth may be appropriate for:

Cold, cough, and mild respiratory symptoms
Seasonal allergies
Sinus symptoms
Mild sore throat
Pink eye or eye irritation
Uncomplicated urinary tract infection symptoms
Vaginal yeast infection symptoms
Cold sores or genital herpes
Minor rashes and skin concerns
Mild nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
Medication-related questions or minor side effects
Other select nonemergency concerns

Not every condition can be diagnosed or treated virtually. Your provider may recommend laboratory testing, an in-person examination, urgent care, or emergency evaluation when needed.

How Does a Telehealth Visit Work?

Begin by completing a brief health form describing your symptoms, medications, allergies, medical history, and any treatments you have already tried.

A licensed healthcare provider will review your information and determine whether virtual care is appropriate. Depending on your concern, your evaluation may be completed through secure communication or may require a video visit.

Your care plan may include:

Self-care recommendations
Over-the-counter treatment options
Laboratory testing
Prescription medication when medically appropriate
Referral for in-person or higher-level care

Completing an intake form does not guarantee treatment or a prescription.

Same-Day Telehealth Hours

Visits are offered during the following hours:

Tuesday: 4:00–8:00 PM Central Time
Wednesday: 4:00–8:00 PM Central Time
Friday: 4:00–8:00 PM Central Time

Appointments are subject to availability. Requests submitted outside these hours will be reviewed during the next available service period.

Pricing

New-patient evaluation: $99
Returning-patient visit: $25
Established-patient refill request: $15

The refill option is for established OVH patients requesting renewal of a medication previously managed by OVH when a new visit is not otherwise required.

Submitting a refill request does not guarantee approval. Updated laboratory testing, additional information, or a video visit may be required before a medication can be renewed.

Medication, laboratory, imaging, pharmacy, and other third-party charges are not included.

Can a UTI Be Treated Through Telehealth?

Some nonpregnant adults with symptoms of an uncomplicated urinary tract infection may be appropriate for telehealth evaluation. Common symptoms include burning with urination, urinary urgency, and increased frequency.

Testing or in-person care may be required if you have:

Fever or vomiting
Significant back or flank pain
Pregnancy
Recurrent urinary infections
A history of resistant infections
Kidney disease
A urinary tract abnormality
Severe or rapidly worsening symptoms

Will I Receive an Antibiotic?

Antibiotics are prescribed only when medically appropriate. They do not treat viral infections and will not be prescribed simply because they are requested.

Certain illnesses require an examination or laboratory testing before an antibiotic can be safely prescribed.

When Should I Seek In-Person or Emergency Care?

Telehealth is not a substitute for an emergency department or full-service urgent care center.

Call 911 or seek immediate emergency care for chest pain, severe difficulty breathing, signs of stroke, loss of consciousness, seizure, severe allergic reaction, uncontrolled bleeding, suicidal thoughts, severe abdominal or pelvic pain, or another potentially life-threatening or rapidly worsening condition.

Intake forms and messages are not monitored continuously and must not be used for emergencies.
